. The proposal is associated with a retail development on the site 
which the CNPA granted planning permission for. Elements of 
the proposed signage may potentially conflict with matters relating 
to the original permission, which are unresolved at present. The 
current proposal is therefore considered to be of linked 
significance to the aims of the National Park, in particular to the 
promotion of the social and economic development of the area.

. Having regard to the first aim of the National Park which includes

. 
Having regard to the first aim of the National Park to conserve 
and enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the area, and 
taking into account the prominence of the site, its proximity to 
Glenbuchat Castle, as well as its location close to the entrance to 
the National Park on one of the main access roads, it is imperative 
that development on the site is of the highest possible design 
standards.
